From Internship to Campaigns: Jack Hill’s Career Journey at BizClik
Jack Hill’s journey from intern to campaign lead highlights growth, culture, and opportunity at BizClik
To mark National Internship Day, we’re shining a light on Jack Hill, who began his career with us as an intern and now leads campaigns across BizClik’s growing portfolio as a Campaigns Manager.
We asked Jack to reflect on his journey, share advice for future interns, and offer insights into how BizClik has supported his development every step of the way.

1 - Why did you choose to intern at BizClik originally? Explain what you had to do.
"I was studying at Leeds Beckett University and knew someone who spoke really highly of BizClik’s team environment. It seemed like a dynamic media company where I could build on what I was learning at uni and adapt my skills in a real-world setting.
During my internship, I managed BizClik’s social media page, planned content to help it grow, produced weekly newsletters for some of our brands, and supported the promotion of the Sustainability LIVE event in September 2022."
2 - How did your internship prepare you for a full-time role?
"My internship gave me a clear understanding of how an organisation works day-to-day. It helped me build confidence in using what I’d learned at university, taught me how to build strong working relationships, and showed me how to adapt quickly, especially when learning new software or tasks."
3 - What advice would you give others looking for internships based on your experience?
"Don’t worry too much about a lack of experience. If you’re studying something relevant and you’re open to learning, you can make an impact.
My biggest tip is to have a ‘never say no’ attitude and get stuck in with anything new."
4 - What made you decide to come back to BizClik after university?
"After finishing university, I spent two years living in Newcastle and working elsewhere, which gave me even more experience and a fresh perspective.
When I saw the chance to come back to BizClik, it felt like the perfect fit. I knew the team, loved the supportive culture, and was excited to bring what I’d learned back into a dynamic company that keeps growing."
5 - How does it feel to now lead campaigns after starting as an intern?
"It feels really rewarding. Working within the campaigns team is quite different from what I was doing during my internship, but having that early experience meant I already understood a lot of the processes and how things work at BizClik.
Starting as an intern gave me a solid foundation, and now being able to work within campaigns means I can build on that and hopefully support others the way my team supported me."
6 - What stood out to you about BizClik’s work culture, both then and now?
"From the start, I loved how everyone was always looking to improve — whether that was our social media, events, or how we worked as a team.
The culture has stayed supportive and collaborative, and being part of a large team with different skill sets makes every day interesting. Management has always had our backs, which makes a huge difference."
7 - How has the company changed since your internship?
"BizClik has really grown since my internship - we now offer clients more than ever, and what we deliver keeps getting more effective and ambitious.
It’s exciting to see the company scale while still keeping the things that make it great, like the Friday breakfasts!"
8 - Any other comments that you would like to add?
"I’m grateful BizClik values developing people and for giving me the opportunity, I owe a lot of my professional career to them."
